George Tudorache is the concertmaster of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège. Born in Romania, he began studying the violin at age 5 with Stefan Gheorghiu and Magdalena Ursu at the National Dinu Lipatti College of Arts in Bucharest. Later, he continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse. Under the tutelage of Jean Jacques Kantorow and Svetlin Roussev, he graduated with 1st prize in violin and 1st prize in chamber music in the class of Itamar Golan.

George Tudorache has won several international competitions, and his performance at the semi-finals of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2015 was widely acclaimed by both the public and critics. He regularly performs as a soloist and concertmaster with renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony Orcehstra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Berlin Symphony Orchestra and France Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of well-renowned conductors like Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, Vladimir Jurowski and others.

A passionate chamber musician, he collaborates with artists such as Menahem Pressler and Itamar Golan. Tudorache also conducts and teaches, serving as a professor principal violin professor at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy of Namurand and is invited regularly to give masterclasses in Europe and Asia. He is also a recurring jury member in competitions such as Arthur Grumiaux Competition in Brussels and the Ysaÿe Competition in Liège. His recording of Philippe Boesmans’ Violin Concerto won several awards, including 5 Diapasons by the notable French magazine. He plays on a 1770 Tomaso Balestrieri violin “Ex Grumiaux”, loaned by the Royal Baron Grumiaux Foundation.
