Alice Lee began playing violin at the age of 5 in Victoria, B.C., and debuted as a soloist when she was 11 years old with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra under Tania Miller in Victoria Symphony Splash 2011. She has won 2nd prize at the International Fritz Kreisler Competition 2018 and the Vienna Classic Strings Competition 2019, as well as 1st prize at the CullerArts International Competition 2023, Shean Strings Competition 2017, and the OSM Manulife Competition 2016. As a soloist worldwide, she has worked with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Johannes Wildner at the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, also with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Slovak Radio Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Menuhin Academy Soloists, Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra, Niagara Symphony Orchestra, CullerArts Orchestra in Spain, and the LGT Young Soloists. She has also appeared at the Kronberg Academy masterclasses, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Liechtenstein Music Academy, Mozarteum Summer Academy, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Rencontres Musicales Switzerland, Banff String Quartet Festival 2017, Banff Masterclass Program, and the Festival Stradivaria. Alice currently studies with Donald Weilerstein at the New England Conservatory in Boston, and had previously studied with Maxim Vengerov at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, as well as with Pierre Amoyal, Barry Shiffman, and Victor Danchenko. She performs on the 1689 "Baumgartner" Stradivarius, generously loaned by the Canada Council for the Arts.
